Looking for Wholesome Kids’ Books?
Kids love books! They love to snuggle in Mom’s lap and dig bucketfuls of dirt with Mike Mulligan in ‘Mike Mulligan and the Steam Shovel’ or twist their tongues around the rhymes of Dr Suess. When the kids got older, we galloped with the cowboy through the mountain pass racing from the bad guy in a Louis L’Amour.
It was SUCH fun to choose a stack of books at the library to last for the week! The smell, the smooth pages, and the solid comforting weight of books carved grooves in little brains that still resonate in adult bookworms. There is something about books!
Books should be fun!! They should be such that we demand ‘one more chapter’ or ‘just one more book, Mommy!’ I love books that are a hug, a high-five, and a warm bowl of tomato soup with grilled cheese.
Then books began to be the Trojan horse for a new message, an agenda that undermined good values and morals. An innocent-looking book can hide such a shocking message! Ack! I couldn’t believe what I found in children’s books!
That’s why I write books!
I want to keep the fun, the adventure, the excitement, and love for reading in books! I’ve published two children’s picture books, and a third is on its way.
