Will GLP-1 Help You?

Do I want to lose weight? Yes, I do! Like ice cream wants sprinkles!

I’ve tried so many things: —Carnivore. —Fasting. —Keto. —Green smoothies. —Sugar free. —Low carb. —Walking. —Move more, eat less.

I’ve lost weight. I’ve been fifty pounds less than my heaviest weight.

Then the pounds crept back on like a nasty mold..

But those GLP-1 drugs—whoa! They sound exciting! GLP-1 drugs like Ozempic and Mounjaro are selling like umbrellas in a downpour. Because they work!

Well then, there’s my answer! I’ll just trot down to my doctor and get me some Ozempic and problem solved!

Not so fast. There’s always a cost to the easy solutions. Weight loss glp1 drugs come with a few nasty side effects. First of all, they are taken by injection once a week or even once or twice a day. Hmmm, that doesn’t sound fun. Other common side effects include:

—Nausea

—Diarrhea

—Vomiting

—Constipation

—Abdominal pain

—Headache

—Dizziness

—Muscle loss

—Low blood sugar

—Injection site reactions such as redness, pain and swelling.

Oh, all that?? No, thanks! Besides, simply losing weight doesn’t address the reason your body is holding onto fat. See Overweight? It’s Not Your Fault also on this site.

But, then when I saw that there were products out there that naturally enhanced glp-1, I was interested. They promised zero side effects. Do they work?

I’m gonna find out!! I found a company with a product that promised to stimulate your body’s own glp-1, which naturally declines as we age, using only natural ingredients.  It promised to stop food cravings, food ‘noise’ (urges to eat), and make you feel full sooner, while dropping the pounds. All without side effects. Okay, I’m in!

I started taking the product last fall. I began gaining weight. Oops, that wasn’t encouraging. But I was told that is common at first. Hang in there; it’s just temporary. After all, the studies done showed 100% of women taking the product LOST weight. 100%!!

I hung in there. And gained more weight. I kept gaining weight for four months until I had gained 15 pounds!! Am I nuts to continue taking this for that long when it obviously wasn’t working? Hope is a powerful force, and I hoped that it would eventually even out and begin going in the other direction. After all, 100% lost weight in the study. Finally, hope died. I am an aberration, I guess, one for whom this does not work. And here I am, ten pounds heavier than when I started. (I lost five pounds doing a cleanse.)

There are many who find success with this product, so I will not say it doesn’t work. It just didn’t work for me. Unfortunately. It did make me feel full faster but also increased my appetite. I could eat all day long. Even if my stomach felt full. Bummer, but that’s the truth. I did not notice any decrease in cravings either. Bummer, again.

I still may try another GLP-1 supplement. Surely, there’s a natural one out there that will work for ME! I”m still a little leery about any of them, so it might take a while to want to try.

Have YOU found a GLP-1 supplement that worked for you? Send me info, please!
